My mother always said I had a face for radio, but that didn’t stop one of the team from breaking out his caera last week and doing some on-the-fly shots. In addition to some really cool images of the studio, he captured a few nice shots of some of the team as well.
And for anyone wondering if our guys are any good at retouching images, just look how natural they made all my wrinkles and grey hairs look. Talented feckers!
We’ve every reason to be in high spirits this Halloween at The Mission Control Communications. In addition to winning four, that’s right, four international effectiveness awards, we’ve also been adding to the team. And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve also added three new brands to the client roster – including one this week which promises to be really amazing.
Big thank you to the clients for trusting us and to the team for all of the hard work!
All in all it’s been a pretty interesting couple of weeks. First – we won 3 Communicator effectiveness awards in New York and then one of the other clients we work with happened to win the General Election ousting Labour, UKIP and the Liberal Democrat leaders in the process.
So I guess we really don’t have that much to complain about on a cold, wet Friday afternoon.
New York, NY (April 26, 2015) Earlier today the winners of the 2015 Communicator Awards were announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. With more than 6,000 entries received from across the US and around the world, we were over the moon to hear that The Mission Control had scooped not one, not two, but three silver awards with distinction at the international event that recognizes the best and most effective work.
The campaigns awarded include the Equiniti PeopleAX Integrated Campaign Strategy for Effectiveness and Unleash Your Creative Monster for Best Use of Direct Mail and Best Self Promotion.
Created by RS Owens, the producer of the Oscar® and Emmy® Awards, the new Communicator statuette is a symbol of the continued pursuit of excellence in marketing and communications and the three wins are an amazing endorsement of The Mission Control and its ability to deliver highly effective B2B campaigns at a world class level.
This is not the first time that The Mission Control has been recognized internationally for the effectiveness of its work – last year the agency also picked up awards in the States for the launch of the new Taconic brand campaign.
“It’s always an honor to be recognized at the awards,” says James Killoran, Strategy Director at The Mission Control. “But to be competing and winning at this international level proves, like our motto says, everything’s possible.”
Judges from this year’s awards include, Condè Nast, Disney, Keller Crescent, Lockheed Martin, Monster.com, MTV, Time Inc., Tribal DDB and Yahoo.
You know, sometimes it’s not the awards or KPIs that let you know you’ve done a good job. It’s a simple card that arrives in the post from someone saying ‘thank you’ and I personally appreciate what you’ve done.
It’s seeing that someone has valued your contribution enough to feel motivated to think about you outside the office environment and go to the trouble of picking out a card and writing a personal note – not just a quick impersonal email.
This lovely card reinforces our belief in working with ‘people’ and not just the brands and corporations that swallow people up. We do what we do not for the awards, but for the fact that we can help people and businesses achieve their objectives and in the process make some amazing friends.
Not even a polar vortex could stop The Mission team from travelling to the United States last month to meet up with with a pretty amazing new client in the beautiful town of Hudson. We also had the opportunity to take a look at one of the exhibitions we’d created for the Kingspan Environmental marketing team operating out of Germany. The stand was part of an international show in NYC.
So we guess that’s a double Mission Accomplished!
